Program Learning Outcomes


Students will be able to: 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between criminal justice, criminology, corrections and ethical issues that affect individuals who work in and are impacted by the field of criminal justice.  
  • Apply critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills by finding data pertaining to topics in criminal justice, synthesizing that information, and incorporating it into case studies. 
  • Design, and carry out, original research in the field of criminal justice 
  • Analyize and interpret research data to address significant issues facing the criminal justice field.  
  • Formulate factual and legal arguments supporting different positions on controversial subjects facing individuals in the field of criminal justice, and debate those arguments in written and oral presentations. 
  • Develop a substantive understanding of special topics in the field of criminal justice through the use of case studies and research
  • Apply knowledge of criminal justice issues and systems, to the development of potential solutions and improvements to the modern field of criminal justice.
