Restriction(s): Students must be enrolled in the Master of Science in Criminal Justice program

Corequisite(s): None

This course will focus on a special topic of interest in the area of criminal justice chosen by the instructor. A detailed analysis of the topic will be presented in this course.

This course may be repeated for up to a total of 6 credits. 

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:

  1. Examine issues within the criminal justice system in such a way as to understand majority and minority perspectives.
  2. Evaluate the roles and attitudes of the actors in the U.S. criminal justice system related to contemporary situations.
  3. Critically analyze contemporary criminal justice policies and procedures.
  4. Formulate evidence-based solutions to a contemporary issue in the field of criminal justice.
