This course covers theory of direct-current motors and generators, controllers, and solid-state components, as well as heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning control systems.

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
  1. Apply Ohms Law to solve basic DC electrical circuits.
  2. Solve combination DC circuits.
  3. Apply and quantify the operation of an electrical meter for DC circuits.
  4. Explain the function of various Diodes.
  5. Describe and quantify the function of various Rectifier circuits.
  6. Describe how transistors, SCRs, Triacs, and Bi-lateral Switches operate in a circuit.
