Prerequisite(s): CJUS 500 and CJUS 510 Corequisite(s): None Restriction(s): Students must be enrolled in the Master of Science in Criminal Justice program
This course will serve as the second step toward the completion of a written master’s thesis. The focus is on completing the research and analysis of the thesis project. Students will carry out their research/data collection, conduct a complete analysis with reporting of result, interpret their findings through a theoretical framework, and critically assess their work. This is also an opportunity to compare notes, techniques and share progress towards completion of the master’s thesis.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Conduct an original research project in an area of personal interest or current need in the Crimial Justice field.
- Analyze and interpret data through a theoretical framework.
- Critically examine one’s own research, discuss faulty analysis by authors where it exists, and offer suggestions for future avenues of research.
