This is a fundamental course in air-conditioning systems operation. Topics covered include: moisture in air; electricity; safety practices; room air conditioners; air-conditioning systems; low-voltage thermostats; residential air-conditioning systems; heat pumps; controls; hydronics; blowers and fans; and air filters.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- The student will have an understanding of each component part of air conditioners and be able to explain the theory necessary to service this equipment.
- To develop a workable understanding of each component part of an air conditioning.
- To develop an understanding of the theory necessary to service air conditioning equipment.
- To develop an understanding of the safety procedures to be used in air conditioning service work.
