VETS 289 - VTNE Prep Course (PILOT COURSE)

This course is designed to prepare students for the veterinary technician national exam which is required for licensing. Students will engage in test taking and critical thinking techniques and strategies. Topics include pharmacology and pharmacy, surgical nursing, dentistry, laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, emergency medicine and critical care, and pain management and analgesia. Students must be eligible to take the VTNE.

Approved as a Pilot Course, spring 2024

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:

  • Apply knowledge from previous veterinary science technology courses to complete 80% or greater of VetTechPrep.
  • Demonstrate test-taking and critical-thinking strategies.
  • Complete the process for registering for the VTNE.
  • Identify their strengths and weaknesses for future studies.
