This course is designed to prepare students to plan and lead adventure recreation programs. Topics will include the following aspects of Adventure Recreation: history, philosophy, theories, leadership skills, settings, clients, activities, programming, psychological/sociological aspects, professionalism, and evaluation.

- Analyze and distinguish between various types of Adventure Programming.
- Analyze the historical and foundational perspectives of Adventure Programming.
- Analyze the various theories for the types of learning that takes place in Adventure Programming.
- Explain the types of leadership that take place in Adventure Programming.
- Evaluate the management aspects of Adventure Programming.
- Discuss the extensions of Adventure Programming.
- Analyze various risk management tactics of Adventure Recreation Programs.
