The subject matter of this course is the development of popular music styles in the United States from 1840 to the present. The curriculum highlights the individuals responsible for the creation of long-lasting American musical styles.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course: The General Education requirement for The Arts is satisfied by ARTS 103. To meet this General Education requirement, students will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of at least one principal form of artistic expression and the creative process inherent therein.
