ARCH 110 - Residential Documentation & Detailing

This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of light wood frame construction within a residential context. Students will explore basic material and components used in building assemblies. Students will also be introduced to the fundamentals of computer aided drawing tools and techniques to document a light wood frame building using architectural drawing conventions.

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
  1. Apply architectural drawing conventions for residential buildings using industry standard software. 
  2. Produce an abbreviated set of working drawings for residential buildings including the use of annotations on plans, sections, elevations, and details.
  3. Define and apply basic methods, materials, sizes, and assemblies in residential construction.
