ARCH 110 - Residential Documentation & Detailing Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 1.5 Laboratory (or Other) Hours: 3
This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of light wood frame construction within a residential context. Students will explore basic material and components used in building assemblies. Students will also be introduced to the fundamentals of computer aided drawing tools and techniques to document a light wood frame building using architectural drawing conventions.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Apply architectural drawing conventions for residential buildings using industry standard software.
- Produce an abbreviated set of working drawings for residential buildings including the use of annotations on plans, sections, elevations, and details.
- Define and apply basic methods, materials, sizes, and assemblies in residential construction.
