Prerequisite(s): WELD 115 and WELD 125 This course covers equipment set-up, metal processes, transfers, and shielding gases. It provides training and education for the development of skills that are necessary to produce quality welds on steel and aluminum in all positions.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Understand the theory and operation of shielded metal/ flux cored arc welding for advanced techniques.
- Operate arc welding equipment to produce quality advanced multi-pass groove and fillet welds.
- Identify all major weld joints and weld sizes.
- Adjust and control shielded/ flux cored arc welding equipment to produce a desired weld outcome.
