This course provides students with theoretical understanding of the various inert gas processes. Training consists of proper machine set-up and the adjustment and production of quality welds on steel. Oxyacetylene cutting and welding is included.

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:

Demonstrate knowledge of the theory and operation of GTAW and GMAWwelding.
Demonstrate knowledge of the principles required to produce acceptable welds in all positions according to A.W.S. standards.
Demonstrate knowledge of safety standards for GMAW, GTAW and oxyfuel equipment.
Demonstrate knowledge of filler metal classifications and their properties.
