  • The order in which a student takes their General Education courses is flexible. 
  • General Education Requirement: All students in the General Studies programs must take at least one course from each General Education category. 
  • “Humanities, Arts, or Social Science” courses would include courses in the following course prefixes: ANTH, ARTS, COMM, ECON, ENGL, GEOG, GOVT, HIST, HONR, HUMN, LITR, PSYC, and/or SOCI.

Program Learning Outcomes


A graduate of the General Studies AA program should be able to:

  • Evaluate sources in order to create and revise communication for specific audiences.
  • Employ quantitative methods such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, or statistics to solve problems.
  • Utilize scientific methods in problem-solving.
  • Analyze the social structures that enact privilege or oppression.
  • Evaluate social contexts and/or issues through rhetorical, artistic, or theoretical frameworks.
