Program Learning Outcomes


A graduate of the Architectural Technology AAS program should be able to:

  • Apply fundamental principles of drafting to the preparation of residential and commercial construction drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, schedules, details, and specifications.
  • Demonstrate design conceptualization strategies, the process of design, and the development and resolution of specific construction details in the design of residential and commercial building systems.
  • Employ traditional graphic means, both drawings and models, to illustrate and orally present completed design projects.
  • Exhibit technical knowledge of the physical properties, design considerations, integration, and interrelationships of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and structural building systems found in typical buildings.
  • Attain basic understanding of architectural history from pre-history to the present.

The technical standards listed below are intended to inform students of the skills, abilities, and behavioral expectations required in this program. These technical standards reflect performance abilities and characteristics that are necessary to successfully complete the requirements of this program at SUNY Delhi. These standards are not conditions of admission to the program, but persons interested in applying for admission to the program should review this list to develop a better understanding of the skills, abilities, and behavioral expectations necessary to successfully complete the program.
