Academic Requirements

General Studies Track


The General Studies degree allows students to have a flexible curriculum and receive a broad education that focuses on opportunities to study mathematics and lab sciences like physics, chemistry, or biology in combination with social sciences.

Health Studies Track


The Health Studies Track will guide students toward a pathway in a health-related field, whether the foundations to get into a nursing program or other health adjacent pathways.

Program Learning Outcomes


A graduate of the General Studies AS program should be able to:

  • Evaluate sources in order to create and revise communication for specific audiences.
  • Employ quantitative methods such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, or statistics to solve problems.
  • Utilize scientific methods in problem-solving.
  • Analyze the social structures that enact privilege or oppression.
  • Articulate an issue or problem and identify, analyze, and evaluate ideas, data, and arguments as they occur in their own or others’ work.
