This course explores the potential of educational technologies to facilitate the integration of curriculum, teaching and learning in the elementary education content areas. The focus is on a hands-on approach to how software can be utilized by both teachers and students. A review of current research in technology in education will be included.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Research and evaluate educational websites and software for student use to support curriculum goals.
- List relevant websites that can be utilized for educational applications.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the legal, ethical, equity, liability, and safety issues related to the use of technology for both teachers and students.
- Demonstrate the necessary technological skills needed to incorporate technology into the curriculum and into the classroom.
- Design lesson plans that adhere to ISTE and state standards for technology education.
