  This course focuses on a specific topic, theme, or period in American history that will change from semester to semester. This in-depth study is intended to enrich students’ understanding of the past. Course may be repeated as the topic changes up to three times. 
  Student Learning Outcomes of the Course: 
	- Knowledge of a basic narrative of modern American history: political, economic, social and cultural taking into account the issues of unity and diversity in American society.
 
	- Knowledge of the common institutions in American history and how they have affected different groups and the collective.
