This advanced course is designed to develop the skills necessary using inert gas processes for stainless steels and non-ferrous metals used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Theory and practical projects cover welding of piping and tubing of major alloys of varying thicknesses.

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:

Understand the theory and operation of inert gas welding for the production of advanced welds according to industry standards.
Demonstrate the ability to operate various inert gas welding equipment to produce acceptable welds on stainless steels and non-ferrous metals in all positions.
Adjust and control inert gas welding equipment to produce desired weld outcome on piping and tubing of different alloys.
Prepare and fit-up piping correctly according to a specific code.
