This course will build on PGMB 225 and further prepare students for their career as golf instructors. The student will complete reading assignments, work experience activities (including giving lessons) and be required to pass knowledge tests.

Discuss and demonstrate an effective framework for student-teacher interaction
Identify student needs and characteristics that affect performance and approach to the game
Evaluate the skills and performance of some typical students and suggest a course of instruction
Evaluate and discuss teaching techniques and effective lesson planning
Identify describe, and begin developing the essential elements of a teaching business
Apply swing concepts to a variety of situations
Understand the importance of course management and playing lessons
Design, implement and evaluate various golfer development programs
Understand the importance of fitness for golfers
Understand the importance of working with different populations
Evaluate short game skills and actions of some typical students, and suggest a course of action
Identify and demonstrate various drills to improve a students short game and full swing
Incorporate video and computer technology in their teaching
