This course provides an examination of the criminal justice system on one particular topic or on a selected short list of related issues. It focuses on understanding of the criminal justice system’s response to crime in today’s society.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate:
- An understanding of the current challenges in the criminal justice system
- An ability to apply critical thinking skills to examine potential solutions in a systematic and disciplined manner
- An ability to apply theories to real-world problems
- An understanding of the challenges in using forensic science in criminal justice
- An understanding of the importance of research and standardization in investigative techniques
