ARCH 110 - Computer Aided Residential Drawings Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 1.5 Laboratory Hours: 3

This course presents the principles of computer-aided drafting as applied to residential construction drawings. The course focuses on the drawing conventions and building technology related to residential construction. Students will produce a set of fully detailed and dimensioned construction drawings for a moderately complex wood frame residence at the pace of a drawing a week.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Develop basic Architectural CAD skills
- Apply drawing conventions for light frame residential buildings
- Produce a set of industry standard working drawings for a small residence including the use of dimensions, notes and symbols on plans, sections and elevation drawings
- Apply drawing standards including scale, title, boarder and title blocks to architectural construction documents
- Define and explain basic methods and materials of residential construction
- Apply standard material sizes and standard material assemblies in residential working drawing
