This course will acquaint students with the structure and function of ecosystems from organismal to global levels. Primary literature is emphasized. The laboratory is inquiry-based and students will explore ecological principles and patterns using their own research.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- The student will demonstrate understanding of the methods scientists use to explore natural phenomena, including observation, hypothesis development, measurement and data collection, experimentation, evaluation of evidence, and employment of mathematical analysis.
- Students will demonstrate application of scientific data, concepts, and models in one of the natural (or physical) sciences.
