An exposure to the legal, management and business aspects of architecture (with applications to engineering and construction management)
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Understanding history of and reasons for building and zoning codes and familiarity with the content and use of both
- Awareness of other practice “controls,” including education, licensure, ethics, liability and contracts
- Identification of personal skills and traits helpful towards contributing to and advancing in the profession of architecture
- Knowledge of the organization and structure of architectural firms and of typical project-oriented teams
- Familiarity with project scopes and comprehension of successful project management techniques
- Understanding of basic business aspects and considerations of professional practice
