Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
  1. The students will generate load tracing for residential, commercial, & heavy construction projects. Student work will be individually.
  2. Students will work in groups to learn the properties for different materials through laboratory experimentation. The students will incorporate this data into structural design.
  3. The students will generate load tracing for residential, commercial, & heavy construction projects. Students will work in groups.
  4. The students will learn and use the software 3d Lift Plan.com residential, commercial, & heavy construction projects.
  5. Students will research applicable codes and specifications for different types of structures. Students will learn about the role of the structural engineer.
  6. Students will learn act professionally in both lecture and lab settings. ACCE Student Learning Outcome (SLO) # 12: Recognize the basic principles of structural design.
