This course provides an opportunity for students to learn and adopt methods to promote their success in college. It presents concrete techniques and specific strategies for improving academic success skills, personal and social adjustment to the college community, and critical- and creative-thinking abilities. Students learn behaviors which lead to success, among which is taking personal responsibility for choices that allow them to be in control.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Student will understand the academic policies and procedures of SUNY Delhi; student code of conduct; and student rights and responsibilities
- Student will be able to identify and apply the critical study strategies and skills for the course
- Student will be able to identify and access appropriate academic support resources and programs
- Student will be responsible for regular participation and attendance in class meetings
- Student will take advantage of learning experiences outside of the classroom
- Student will understand and adopt the culture of college level academics, particularly the expectation of self-reflectivity, self-management and high standards
