PHYS 150 - General Physics I Credit Hours: 4 Lecture Hours: 3 Laboratory Hours: 3

Linear motion, force, work and mechanical energy, power, momentum, torque, rotational motion, thermal physics, and the gas laws are studied. This is a non-calculus course, but competence in high- school algebra, plane geometry, and plane trigonometry is assumed. This course includes three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory per week and meets General Education natural laboratory science requirements.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Students will demonstrate understanding of the methods scientists use to explore natural phenomena, including observation, hypothesis development, measurement and data collection, experimentation, evaluation of evidence, and employment of mathematical analysis.
- Students will demonstrate application of scientific data, concepts, and models in one of the natural sciences.
