This course is an introduction to the subject of human cultural diversity as well as similarity. Topics discussed include: evolutionary change; socio-political levels of organizations; kinship system analysis; marriage systems; political, economic, and religious behavioral systems; language; and personality research.

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:

Students will be familiar with basic concepts of the whole discipline of Anthropology
Students will understand the basic theoretical approaches to the understanding of human cultural variation.
Students will be familiar with core cultural institutions
Students will be familiar with the prime cultural anthropological methodology - participant observation.
