AECT 293 - Independent Study 3 Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 0 Laboratory Hours: 9
Prerequisite(s):
- Completion of at least one semester’s work in a degree program at SUNY Delhi.
- A cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
- No more than 6 credit hours independent study may be taken during any one semester, and no more than 15 credit hours of independent study may be applied toward an associate’s degree. The total number of credit hours in independent study that may be applied toward a bachelor’s degree depends on the specific bachelor’s program.
- The student and his/her sponsor will prepare and submit to the Dean of Technology an Independent Study contract proposal for approval.
- At least 3 credit hours in one foundation course specific to the discipline.

This is a course of study whose content, activity, and criteria for evaluation are established by a faculty member and a student for the purpose of allowing the student a chance to independently explore a topic related to architecture, construction, engineering, or applied technology. An outline of the intended study/project is written by the faculty member and student prior to the semester in which the course is taken.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Variable, based upon specific topic selected by student and approved by faculty member.
