A continuation of intermediate accounting, topics include plant and equipment (acquisition, depreciation, revaluations), intangibles, long-term liabilities, stock holders’ equity (paid-in capital, retained earnings), and analytical processes (comparative data, special ratios and measurements, errors and their correction, and price level changes).
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- To master generally accepted accounting concepts, conventions, practices, and procedures.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to perform proper transactional journal entries associated with stockholders equity transactions.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to calculate employee/employer payroll and record the appropriate payroll journal entries.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to discern the proper accounting treatment of contingent liabilities.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to discern the proper accounting treatment and journal entries associated with leases.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to calculate and record the issuance and purchase of bonds and notes payable
