The internship is designed to involve students who are not currently credentialed veterinary technicians in the daily activities that are encountered in diverse professional pathways that encompass the many aspects of veterinary and animal care fields. This may include but is not limited to: research, zoo/aquarium husbandry, facility management, marketing, business, agriculture, sales, or nutrition. A minimum of 480 hours of participation in a faculty-approved facility is required.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Understand the day to day requirements of professionals working in their field of interest.
- Demonstrate specific skills associated with successful employment in the field of their Internship.
- Reflect and report on their Internship using skills associated with professional written and oral communication.
