HIST 106 - Historical Site Experience

This course brings history alive! Participants will engage in guided reading and class sessions heading up to an on-site visit to a famous historical site. As part of the class, participants will study the economic, political, and social history leading up to the event, what happened at the event, the outcome of the event, and the legacy of the event on the local, state, and national communities.

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
  1. Analyze knowledge of a broad outline of social, cultural, and political movements leading up to the event and how the event has changed those movements.
  2. Evaluate how the event impacted America’s changing role in the world and how the rest of the world has perceived the United States because of the event.
  3. Evaluate historical evidence to make informed arguments about contemporary political, economic, and social issues.
