This course will serve as an introduction to the professional experience requirement for all Hospitality Management majors. Students will seek out opportunities for employment aligned with their career goals. The focus will be placed on securing a work experience location for the summer session, learning interviewing techniques, resume development, and professional workplace expectations.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Compose a professional resume and cover letter.
- Develop a set of goals for the work experience.
- Assess individual strengths and weaknesses in preparation for the work experience.
- Model professional workplace behavior.
- Develop a relationship with an organization in order to secure a work experience for credit.
