This course provides students with theoretical understanding of the various inert gas processes. Training consists of proper machine set-up and the adjustment and production of quality welds on steel. Oxyacetylene cutting and welding is included.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the theory and operation of GTAW and GMAWwelding.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles required to produce acceptable welds in all positions according to A.W.S. standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety standards for GMAW, GTAW and oxyfuel equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of filler metal classifications and their properties.
