This course is a study of commercial recreation as a major component of the leisure service delivery system. Analysis of different types of commercial recreation enterprises including location, marketing, managerial requirements, pricing, problems, trends, sources of technical assistance, risk management, and sources of financing.

Students will clearly define commercial recreation.
Students will recognize historical development of commercial recreation and its impact on modern day offerings.
Students will have a working knowledge of the various endeavors that make up the commercial recreation industry and also recognize how these endeavors work together.
