A look at the historical growth and development of casinos in America and around the world and the role they play in our society today. The course will cover a detailed look at Gaming Control, Gaming Regulations, Casino Accounting and Cash Control, an Introduction to Table Games-Sports Book Operations-Race Operations, Effective Player Rating & The Premium Player, and Security and Surveillance.
Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
- Identify the role of government and how it regulates the casino and gaming industry
- Identify the role of security and surveillance in the casino and gaming industry
- Discuss the most popular types of gambling including table games, horse racing, and lotteries
- Identify the future of gaming and the role the internet will play
- Recognize and apply available and emerging technologies
- Adhere to classroom policies and demonstrate/exhibit professional behavior
