ARCH 470 - Architectural Design VI

This course serves as a “capstone,” and as such requires students to adeptly employ the broad range of technical and professional competencies gained in the program. Thus, this course will focus on the design of large and/or complex commercial and institutional buildings, such as mid-rise, 4-to-10+/- story, mixed-use urban buildings and/or complex, detached low-rise buildings such as small schools, or prisons, etc.

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
  1. SLO 1 - Drawing Fundamentals - Apply fundamental principles of drafting to the preparation of residential and commercial construction drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, schedules, details, and specifications.
  2. SLO 3 - Presentation Techniques - Employ traditional graphic means, both drawings and models, to illustrate and orally present completed design projects.
