ACCT 125 - Managerial Accounting

A continuation of the basic accounting principles, course topics include the nature of corporations and related equity and income reporting issues, long-term liabilities, statement of cash flow, nature and behavior of manufacturing cost, introduction to cost accounting concepts and systems, cost-volume profit relationships, and an introduction to budgetary planning.

Student Learning Outcomes of the Course:
  1. Students will prepare entries to record transactions relating to the corporation.
  2. Students will prepare entries to record transactions relating to long term liabilities.
  3. Students will prepare a cash flow statement.
  4. Students will record transactions, calculate job costs and budget using the concepts of cost and managerial accounting.
  5. Students will calculate the cost of manufacturing jobs using job order processing, process costing and activity based systems.
  6. Students will prepare the different budgets associated with manufacturing accounting, e.g sales, production, etc.
